You rock! It's not surprising your succeeding with this incredibly difficult task, though. You've always skillfully handled every challenge life ever threw your way!
My story has a familar ring to it: married with three children, school teacher, enjoying life, family, friends, etc. Then two years ago I became a sickly wreck. Without much notice, my body began to break down. The list went something like this: constant migraines, blurred vision, dizziness, dreadful stomachaches which often caused vomiting and diarrhea, ongoing bronchitis, even pneumonia, and chronic recurring infections that required frequent doctor visits, and several antibiotics. I felt lousy 24/7 and could hardly stay awake. Long story short, (I know it's too late for that), the doc tested me for diabetes. With sky high blood glucose levels, I was forced to go on medication. I cried. Being dependent on meds was the last thing I wanted to do my entire life. But the fear of losing my sight or having to amputate a limb was beyond any other worry, not to mention having a stroke and/or heart attack. For the next two years, I took medication regularly and quite literally began hunting down a cure for Type 2 diabetes. Although I'm not sure where this journey will take me, I hope it ends up as happily for me as it did for the six diabetics in the "Simply Raw . . . " documentary.
